Our Masterclass programme seeks to respond to the needs of more able children both in terms of challenge and emotional development. It offers a range of activities linked to their specialisms, and encourages creativity and enrichment. The aims and objectives include the important aspects of socialisation and transition, and enjoyment is a key feature.
On 26 th September, Rotherham launched its leading teacher programme at the Carlton Park Hotel. 59 teachers from schools throughout the borough came to focus on pedagogy and good classroom practice. Our key principals are to make classroom teaching and learning central to our drive for school improvement; to personalise learning for all pupils, including gifted and talented pupils; to prevent underachievement – countering disadvantage and recognising that all schools have gifted and talented learners; and to build on local expertise, knowledge and partnerships.
